Problem solved, Battery opens and doesn't any more gives an error message 'Library not found in the location. I just checked where Battery is looking for the library (since I couldn't delete that path in the preferences file) and I created a directory called Battery 4 Factory Demo, I created a sub directory called 'kits' and another called 'Samples' and I copied just one of the kits from the library to this directory. I think my problem occurred because I deleted the demo program before I installed the purchased program but some setting told Battery that there is a Demo factory library installed, which I deleted before I installed the full version. In my case it was searching a factory demo library and every time I opened Battery it would scan to find the files.

I resolved the issue as described in my previous post, make sure that your libraries are located in the locations where Battery is checking for the libraries (Battery 4 - Preferences - Library). Please report back if this worked for you. I emailed NI who told me to delete the previous installation and install again, tried that but it makes no difference. I don't know what causes it but at least it removes the long scanning process. Now I can start Battery, it still reports one item missing on when it opens, I click on 'Ignore it' and the whole library is available without the long scanning process like before. Now Battery stopped scanning the library, or perhaps still do but it takes a split second in stead of few minutes to scan all 25000+ items. I created it, created a sub directory called 'Kits' and I copied just one kit from users/shared/Battery 4 factory library/Kits/ to this new directory, which means it has only one kit listed in this directory. Then I checked both these directories and noted that there were no directory on my HD called users/shared/Battery 4 demo factory library 1 = users/shared/Battery 4 demo factory library and 2 = users/shared/Battery 4 factory library I checked where is the library : Battery - Preferences - Library, and mine had 2 directories listed. Click to expand. This helped me a little, didn't totally solve it but sure saves a lot of time.
